For businesses the important fact in protecting your employees is that terrorist attacks continue and they should have safety awareness training.
The 2021 European Terrorism report (TESAT) was released this week by Europol showing that Jihadist attacks were still being undertaken during the Covid pandemic.
The most frequent type of attack identified was lone attackers carrying out assaults in public places, targeting random individual members of the public.
In the report a number of countries highlighted the risk of returning IS fighters who are European nationals and the effect this may have on further attacks or developing networks of sympathisers.
My advice would be to ensure your employees have personal safety awareness training while making sure your organisation does not have policies that may make things worse such as assembling together after a fire alarm.
