Often its about power.
When there is an imbalance in power (or the perception of power) bad people see an opportunity.
This has been seen in relationships, disaster relief, charities, child and social care and in the workplace.
It never ceases to amaze me how easily people with bad intentions find situations or positions where they can manipulate or take advantage of others.
If you witness a situation where there is an imbalance of power then check to ensure someone cannot abuse that.
