Increased awareness is always welcome but am I wrong to be sceptical about some of these initiatives.
I don’t doubt that most involved have the very best of intentions but there will obviously be those just jumping on the bandwagon.
However many times the goodwill is not matched by funding or end to end joined up planning and support.
With a police service that already knows a lot about their local area but chooses to prioritise their resources in particular specific ways how will this realistically help.
